Cave Creek Cabins were built with our guest's comfort in mind. Spacious 1500 Sq. Ft. multi level gives you room to breath. Covered decks let you enjoy the outdoors even when Mother Nature isn't cooperating.

Our cabins feature beautiful custom wood furniture, countertops and accents made from reclaimed wood that you just have to see. Each cabin offers two bedrooms, all with comfortable queen mattresses, two sleeper sofas and two full baths. The upper level of the cabins feature a great room with trestle style dining table that seats 8 comfortably. The ample living area has a gas fireplace, recliner, sofa and HD-TV. Our full kitchen, with full size appliances, has beautiful wood countertops and seating for 4 at the island. Cookware, dinnerware for 8, coffeemaker and toaster provided. One bedroom and a bath are also located on this level. The upper deck features a great overlook of Cave Creek for you to enjoy from the drink rail while you rest on our comfortable bar stools.

The lower level has a relaxed seating area with sofa, TV and DVD player. A game table and board games are provided. One bedroom and bath are located on this level, plus the utility room. We also offer satellite TV.  This cabin is perfect for two couples or a family getaway.  The deck on this level also offers a good view of the creek for your enjoyment.

Luxurious bed linens and bath towels provided.  Soaps, shampoos, paper products and some cleaning supplies are also provided. We also provide an outdoor charcoal grill. And we have a fire pit available for our guest's enjoyment.

We have a dusk to dawn security light illuminating the parking area and cabin entries. Due to our recent construction, there is no grass or landscaping yet. However, Cave Creek with it's rocky shores provides plenty of room to wander.

Less than a mile north of Alto Pass, Mark's Lane is between Alto Vineyards and Rendleman's Orchard Store. It's a very short drive to Bald Knob Cross, Cedar Lake, Little Grand Canyon, Pomona Natural Bridge or Trail of Tears state park. The hiking is great.  The experienced hiker should try the trail around Cedar Lake, one of the best fishing lakes in the region.

Alto Pass is in the prime viewing area for the 2017 Eclipse.  We are booked for the event, but we have so much to offer during the summer and fall.  They start picking peaches in June.  Apples and other farm fresh produce available at the farm stores.  Check for festivals and music every weekend at the wineries.  Don't miss the food and wine pairing weekends.  Yum!   And before we know it the beautiful fall colors will be here.  There is something for everyone to enjoy in Southern Illinois.  Have a busy day and then come back to a relaxing retreat at Cave Creek!

Alto Pass , IL , United States

On the western side of the Shawnee Wine Trail, we are just outside Alto Pass and close to Bald Knob Cross of Peace. Cave Creek Cabins are located between Pomona Natural Bridge and Trail of Tears State Parks. Close to great hiking at the Little Grand Canyon or good fishing at Cedar Lake. Cedar Lake also has a great hiking trail around the lake with beautiful views, bluffs and a waterfall after the rain. If you are a thrill seeker, there is a great Zip Line Adventure close by in the Shawnee or learn to repel in Giant City State Park. You could go horseback riding or take a pottery class at nearby Alto Pass Clay Works. Enjoy the harvest bounty from our neighbors at the Rendleman Orchard Farm Store, where you can get fresh picked produce (or maybe just some famous apple cider donuts) in season. Did you know there was a Darn Hot Pepper farm and a lavender farm close by? There are also several good golf courses in our region. And in the summer you could take in a Southern Illinois Miners baseball game. On August 21, 2017, join us in Southern Illinois for prime viewing of the total Eclipse. So in addition to the great wineries and growing number of breweries, there are a lot of activities to enjoy in Southernmost Illinois. Come and visit us soon.

Fabulous Cabin

Date of Stay:

This cabin exceeded all of our expectations. We will hopefully stay again in the future and highly recommend it.

Wonderful visit. Trees, birds and quiet all close the the wineries. The owner was fantastic!

Relaxing comfortable stay

Date of Stay:

Beautiful nicely decorated cabin with top of the line appliances . We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning with our cup of coffee listening to the outdoors the stream from the creek and birds in the trees. In the evening hanging out by the campfire is where our family gathered . The owners went over and beyond to welcome us and make our stay perfect. Thank you for everything and for the time we got to spend together for my sons graduation from SIU.

What a perfect weekend!! Great night’s sleep in the quiet country setting and super comfortable bed! Enjoyed our morning coffee listening to the stream on the back deck. Took a scenic drive over to the Shawnee National Forrest and enjoyed a hike and Maple Syrup Fest. Relaxed all afternoon listening to the kids laugh and play in the creek, enjoying nature’s wonders. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy the wineries that are nearby!!

Date of Stay:

These cabins far exceeded our expectations. The furnishings are so comfortable and they have everything there you would ever need and I love how the two cabins connect for large family or friend gatherings too. The creek and hiking and the fire pit area, the list just goes on and on. The location is awesome too right in the heart of many wineries, restaurants and neat things to find and do. We will be back.
